Job Title: MRI Technologist Assistant

As an MRI Technologist Assistant, your primary role is to support the Remote MRI Technologist in delivering imaging services to patients. You are responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care, interacting effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, and acting as a liaison among team members, ROCC Technologist, Quality Staff, and Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Remote MRI Technologist in performing high-quality diagnostic imaging safely, efficiently, and professionally.
2. Properly place and maintain IV access using aseptic technique; administer MR contrast agents as prescribed; identify and escalate adverse reactions.
3. Support departmental workflow to ensure timely completion of tasks.
4. Monitor and order supplies to prevent service disruptions.
5. Report and coordinate repairs for service malfunctions; maintain detailed service records.
6. In mobile environments: clean units, prepare for transport, manage data and maintenance binders, and ensure compliance with postings and checklists.
7. Ensure accurate patient history documentation and review with the ROCC Technologist; investigate concerns to prevent incidents.
8. Transport patients safely, position them properly, and communicate effectively during examinations.
9. Assist with clinical accreditation processes and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
• ROCC Assistant Training Certification (within 60 days of hire)
• Venous Access Training Certification (within 60 days of hire)
• Completion of MRTA course training prior to patient care
• Knowledge of MRI safety practices
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to interact professionally with radiologists, physicians, and staff
• COVID-19 vaccination may be required
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening
• Up to 10% local travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant, EMT, or Phlebotomist experience
• One year of medical field experience preferred
• IV skills (training provided)
• Familiarity with Google Apps, HIS/RIS, and PACS software

Physical Requirements:

May be exposed to strong magnetic fields. More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk, perform repetitive movements, communicate effectively. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, and lift/move patients.
