Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an MRI Technologist I to perform procedures in accordance with department protocols, operating MRI scanners and related equipment, IV contrast injectors, post-processing stations, and patient monitoring systems. You will ensure proper patient preparation and documentation.

The role emphasizes safety, coordination with radiologists, and support across the MRI suite, including invasive procedure assistance and adherence to infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners and related equipment per departmental protocols.
• Verify orders with Radiologist; contact provider for discrepancies.
• Identify and assist patients; explain procedures.
• Interview patients and gather medical history from EMR.
• Prepare IV contrast and document administration.
• Maintain radiation safety and monitor patient condition.
• Assist physicians during procedures and ensure sterile technique.
• Document procedures and outcomes in the MAR/system.
