Job summary

UNC Rockingham Health Care seeks an MRI technologist to perform diagnostic imaging using MRI equipment, ensuring patient safety and high-quality data. You will operate scanners, administer contrast, and transfer images to PACS and EPIC systems.

Certification requirements include ARRT/ARMRIT registration or eligibility, plus ongoing education and BLS compliance. This onsite role supports day shifts and a 36-hour week with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiological Science program.
• ARRT/ARMRIT registration or eligibility with plan to obtain certification.
• Advanced MRI certification within one year of employment.
• BLS competency and continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identity and verify patients, obtain history, ensure understanding and safety.
• Operate MRI scanners, select scanning parameters, and interpret protocols.
• Administer IV and oral contrast according to protocols and safety guidelines.
• Transfer and verify images via PACS and to EMR/EPIC, ensuring accuracy of charges.
• Precept new staff and document incidents for process improvement.
