Job Summary

Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment safely and accurately to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. Work includes:

1. Preparing and operating MRI equipment
2. Positioning patients correctly and effectively
3. Recording the requested diagnostic images
4. Sending results to the physician for evaluation and diagnosis

Work is performed under strict safety, regulatory, licensing departmental standards, and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment for imaging tests based on physician’s orders and department safeguards to ensure quality results
• Preparing patients and performing MRI procedures
• Maintaining records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements
• Performing incidental general office duties such as answering phones, scheduling, filing, maintaining patient records, and ordering supplies

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology
• Prior Cardiac and Breast MRI experience preferred but not required

License/Certification

• ARRT certification is required
• State of Washington Certification as a Radiological Technologist is required unless ARRT(MR) is achieved through the ARRT Primary Pathway
• ARRT MRI Certification is preferred
• Current healthcare provider BLS Certification

Please note: This location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire, with internal resources for ongoing competency.
