Job summary

Berkshire Health Systems in Massachusetts seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to perform a broad range of MRI procedures, applying independent judgment to facilitate accurate diagnoses.

You will follow hospital policies, maintain patient confidentiality, operate PACS/HIS/RIS, and participate in mandatory education and competencies. ARRT(MR) certification within two years and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an AMA-approved MRI program.
• ARRT(MR) certification required; MRI within two years of hire.
• CPR certification required.
• Mass Radiography License (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of technical MRI procedures with independent judgment.
• Follow departmental policies and infection control guidelines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure high-quality imaging data.
• Operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment and related PACS/HIS/RIS systems.
• Participate in mandatory education and department competencies.

Job description

• Perform a wide variety of technical MRI procedures, requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. Requires initiative to apply appropriate MRI skills to facilitate a diagnosis. May be assigned independent responsibilities by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager. Proper care of the client in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures is required. May be responsible for assigned areas to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to MRI personnel as determined by Operations Manager or Lead Technologist. Practices infection control and body substance isolation in clinical practice in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrates proper operation of PACS, HIS and RIS computer systems. Demonstrates ability to operate and trouble shoot CR, DR and PACs applications. Attends annual mandatory education to include blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation. Maintains department competencies as required

• Education and Training:
• Must have completed formal AMA approved program for MRI Preferred (Diagnostic X-Ray Preferred) or must have completed formal AMA approved program for MRI.
• License, Certification & Registration:
• CPR - CPR is required.
• ARRT(MR) - MRI within two years of hire
• ARRT(RTR) - Registered Technologist Radiography (Preferred)
• MALIC - Mass Radiography License (Preferred)
• Other Requirements:
• Ability to function independently and proficiently in a high stress, work intensive environment. Attendance at all mandatory education is required.
