Fmolhs MRI Department seeks an MRI Tech 2 to prepare patients for examinations and acquire diagnostic MRI images while ensuring safety for patients and staff. The role includes screening for implants, administering contrast safely, and educating patients and families before and after tests.
This position requires familiarity with MRI equipment, coordination of schedules, and adherence to service standards. On-call availability is expected to ensure 24-hour MRI coverage within the department.
The MRI Tech 2 arranges patients for Magnetic resonance examinations. Produces MRI images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. MRI technologist monitors and ensures safety of patient and all personnel prior to entering magnetic area. Performs patient screening by using established protocols for any ferrous materials and medical device history and for safe administration of contrast media. Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Works under minimal supervision and may perform additional job duties.
Education:
MRI courses required; (Associate's Degree or graduate of a radiologic technology program preferred)
Experience:
Sufficient previous experience to have thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures preferred, along with knowledge in physiology and human anatomy and MRI experience.
Licensure:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, R.T. (MR- Magnetic Resonance Imaging) (ARRT) = R.T.(MR)(ARRT)
