Employment Details

• Type: Part time
• Shift: Day Shift, 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday
• Location: Chelsea, MI
• Status: Part Time, 24 hours per week
• Eligible for Weekend Alternative Program: work 48 hours in a pay period, get up to an additional 8 hours of pay

Position Purpose

The MRI Technologist reviews Physician Orders, prepares and positions patients, performs MRI imaging, and may assist with MRI-guided procedures. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of MRI/MRA and adjusts protocols as needed. Administers contrast media and collaborates with radiologists to produce diagnostic images.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program preferred
• Advanced certification in MRI (ARRT or ARMRIT) required or MRI Registry-eligible with certification within one year
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
• One year MRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and proficiency in venipuncture
• Ability to operate MRI equipment and maintain continuing education credits

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts and explain procedures
• Perform diagnostic procedures and position patients
• Adjust imaging equipment and protocols
• Screen patients for safety, administer contrast, and monitor reactions
• Operate peripheral equipment and maintain QA logs
• Assist with training staff and students
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of work areas
• Report equipment issues and collaborate with department staff
• Provide quality patient care considering age and cultural needs
