Job Description

Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Collaborates with clinicians to ensure appropriateness of studies. Maintains required documentation.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedures.
2. Ensures no metal objects accompany patients into the procedure room.
3. Prepares patients for exams by positioning them on the exam table within the gantry.
4. Enters patient history data and other relevant information from the requisition completed by the Radiologist, including the anatomical area of interest.
5. Performs MRI procedures such as abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy planning, and biopsies.
6. Recognizes and reports patient motor abnormalities, including fainting, discoloration, or contrast reactions, to the Radiologist promptly.
7. Performs minor repairs, calibration checks, and equipment adjustments as needed.
8. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities listed are considered essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Job Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school diploma required.
• Current license to practice as a Radiologist in New York State and current ARRT Radiology registration required, along with any specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant technical experience required.
