Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a MR Technologist I to assist physicians in diagnostic procedures, preparing patients and operating MR equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.

Responsibilities include high-quality MRI exams, patient safety, data documentation in EMR/RIS/PACS, and teamwork to deliver excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher; ARRT MR certification/eligibility required.
• Minimum 1 year MR experience preferred.
• ARRT MR RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) certification within 6 months of hire.
• IV credential required.
• State license as applicable.

What We Offer

The MR Technologist I will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

What You'll Do

• MRI Imaging: Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to physician orders, protocols, and safety standards.
• Patient Care & Safety: Verify patient information, history, allergies, and MRI screening requirements. Prepare, position, monitor, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Equipment & Imaging: Operate MRI equipment, select appropriate protocols and sequences, administer contrast and perform venipuncture as permitted, and evaluate image quality.
• Documentation: Accurately document procedures and maintain patient records using EMR, RIS, and PACS.
• Teamwork & Professionalism: Respond to emergencies, follow safety and infection-control standards, maintain required credentials and competencies, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

• NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) within 6 months of hire, required.
• NH Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility - Certified and Registered within 6 Months of hire in ARRT RT(R)(MR), required.
• Hospital Outpatient Department-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR), required.
• IV Credentialed, required.
• Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement
• Applicable state license, required.

Additional Skills (required): Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
