Job summary

Shields Health Care Group seeks an MRI Technologist to join our Leominster team at the UMass Health Alliance Leominster campus. The role requires providing a professional, caring atmosphere while maintaining a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities include patient safety, accurate positioning, contrast administration, data entry, and delivering films/CDs to Radiologists. ARRT/CPR certifications are required, with ARMRIT accepted at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies and protocols for patient safety.
• Inform patients about exam procedures at an understandable level.
• Position patients accurately and ensure comfort during scans.
• Maintain visual/verbal contact with patients throughout exams.
• Perform scans per center protocol and administer contrast as needed.
• Record data, provide films/CDs, and forward to Radiologist upon completion.

These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.Administer intravenous contrast.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.Contrast administrationWhat you need:This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills. ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of timeAssist patients with mobility difficultiesSome inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotationTo push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five poundsAbove physical requirements can be met with or without accommodationAdditional Job Description:Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits.
