Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a per diem MRI Technologist to join our imaging team in Massachusetts. You will provide a safe, compassionate environment while efficiently performing MRI exams in a fast-paced setting.

Strong communication with patients and radiology staff is essential. Responsibilities include accurate patient positioning, adherence to protocols, contrast administration, data entry, and delivering films/CDs to patients and radiologists.

Qualifications

• Prior MRI scanning experience required.
• MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications required; interpersonal skills essential.
• ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Position patients accurately and ensure comfort.
• Perform MRI scans following center protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast as needed.
• Record patient data in Tech Data Entry system and provide films/CDs when appropriate.
• Forward data/CDs to Radiologist after exam; assist clerical staff as needed.
• Maintain equipment and re-supply rooms per policy.

These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.Administer intravenous contrast.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.Contrast administrationWhat you need:This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills.
