Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI examinations, prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, and ensure safety in the magnetic environment.

You will demonstrate expertise in MRI, maintain image quality, and communicate effectively with patients to create a comfortable diagnostic experience, supporting accurate results for physicians.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate, upon hire.
  • ARRT MRI or ARRT Radiography ARMRIT MRI certification within 9 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
  • Monitors the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.
  • Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test.
  • Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.

Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • Responsible in enforcing magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operator and visitors.
  • Monitors the patient’s condition before and after the scan to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Explains testing procedures to patient ensuring patient understands what the involvement of the exam.
  • Positions and instructs the patient about the preparation for the MRI test
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax and abdomen, physiology, and MRI terminology, practices and procedures
  • Be familiar with specific MRI coding systems
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT or ARMRIT MRI, within 9 - months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire
