Job summary

Hughston is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-level imaging using radiofrequency waves and magnetic fields. The role requires independence, strong interpersonal skills, and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities include operating MRI equipment, administering contrast, coordinating with radiologists, and maintaining image quality and PACS systems. ARRT coursework and a high school diploma are required; MRI registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Completion of ARRT-approved coursework in radiologic technology (required).
• MRI registered preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes.
• Inject patients with contrast material.
• Prepare images, patient history and paperwork for radiologists' interpretation.
• Organize and prepare images for radiologists via fax and Teleradiology over the internet.
• Ensure images meet established quality standards.
• Assist with entering MRI reports into patient charts.
• Keep MRI rooms stocked with appropriate materials.
• Maintain proficiency with PACS and assist staff as needed.

Position Responsibilities

• Be able to put patients at ease, keep safety a priority.
• Must be knowledgeable in hazardous materials and proper reporting of equipment repair needs.
• Keep patients mentally and physically comfortable.
• Inject patients with contrast material.
• Must be aware of each physician's protocol.
• Responsible for keeping the MRI rooms stocked with appropriate materials.
• Operate MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body for diagnostic purposes.
• Complete appropriate paperwork for Radiologist via associated computer applications.
• Organize and prepare images, patient history, and paperwork for radiologists' interpretation by using fax and Teleradiology via internet.
• Assure that images meet the established quality standards.
• Must have command of PACS and be able to assist other staff members as needed.
• Assist with entering MRI reports into patient's charts.

Experience

Required

• None.

Preferred

• One (1) year of MRI experience.

Education

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT.

Preferred

• MRI registered.

Special Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and display excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must maintain current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Must be organized.
• Must have basic computer skills/administrative skills.
• Must have proficiency with cross sectional anatomy.
• Must have exceptional knowledge of anatomy.
