Job summary

The Hughston Clinic in Columbus, GA is seeking a radiologic technologist to perform MRI procedures and support radiologists at a high technical level.

You will position patients, prioritize safety, and prepare imaging files for interpretation while maintaining PACS workflow and documentation accuracy. ARRT coursework and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of ARRT-approved radiologic technology coursework.
  • Must maintain current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Able to work independently with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in cross-sectional anatomy and radiology safety.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic cross-sectional images.
  • Prepare images, patient history, and paperwork for radiologists’ interpretation.
  • Organize and prepare materials for teleradiology via internet/ fax.
  • Ensure images meet established quality standards and PACS workflow.
  • Keep MRI rooms stocked and assist staff as needed.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for Radiologist via computer applications.

Perform exceptional imaging procedures using radiofrequency waves and strong magnetic fields at a high technical level.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Be able to put patients at ease, keep safety a priority.
  • Must be knowledgeable in hazardous materials and proper reporting of equipment repair needs.
  • Keep patients mentally and physically comfortable.
  • Inject patients with contrast material.
  • Must be aware of each physician’s protocol.
  • Responsible for keeping the MRI rooms stocked with appropriate materials.
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for Radiologist via associated computer applications.
  • Organize and prepare images, patient history, and paperwork for radiologists’ interpretation by using fax and Teleradiology via internet.
  • Assure that images meet the established quality standards.
  • Must have command of PACS and be able to assist other staff members as needed.
  • Assist with entering MRI reports into patient’s charts.

  • Must be able to work independently and display excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Must have basic computer skills/administrative skills.
  • Must have proficiency with cross sectional anatomy.
  • Must have exceptional knowledge of anatomy.
