Summary

Conducts procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Schedule

Monday to Thursday, 4-10s, 12 PM to 10:30 PM

Responsibilities

1. Patient Identification: Uses professional manners and methods, verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, assists patients and family members requiring extra attention, ensures patient understanding whenever possible, and ensures patient safety. Verifies pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
2. MRI Technology: Demonstrates knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional anatomy, operates MRI scanners proficiently, manages contrast injections, maintains active ARRT or ARMRIT certification, interprets protocols, troubleshoots equipment and protocol issues, and shares knowledge with colleagues.
3. Contrast Administration: Administers oral and IV contrast following protocols, establishes IV lines, checks lab values for contrast eligibility, and follows safe injection procedures.
4. Image Transfer: Understands PACS, transmits images to relevant systems, verifies and segments images, manages orders accurately, and ensures correct patient and demographic information.
5. Other Duties: Completes tasks promptly, manages workflow, volunteers for challenging tasks, produces quality images, reviews patient charts, maintains a clean environment, documents incidents, and precepts new staff and students.

Other Information

Education Requirements: Completion of an accredited Radiological Science program or completion within 3 months of application.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Must be registered with ARRT, ARMRIT, or be registry eligible, with certification in MR within one year of employment. Maintain current BLS certification.

Professional Experience: Relevant education, training, and experience for the role.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks effectively.
