Shields Health Care Group is seeking an MRI Technologist for per diem shifts in the Boston area. You will provide patient-friendly imaging services in a fast-paced clinical environment, ensuring safety and comfort throughout exams.

The role requires MRI experience, ARRT/CPR certifications (ARMRIT accepted at some locations), and strong interpersonal skills. Applicants must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work as part of a collaborative radiology team.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Position the patient accurately and ensure comfort.
• Administer intravenous contrast and perform scans per protocol.
• Record patient data to the Tech Data Entry program and provide films/CDs as needed.
• Forward data/films/CDs to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as needed and maintain equipment.

These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.Perform scan in accordance to center’s protocol.Administer intravenous contrast.Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.Contrast administrationWhat you need:This opportunity requires prior MRI scanning experience.Necessary requirements include MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications, and fantastic interpersonal skills. ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations.Sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of timeAssist patients with mobility difficultiesSome inpatient locations may require employee’s to participate in a call schedule/rotationTo push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five poundsAbove physical requirements can be met with or without accommodationAdditional Job Description:Pay range for this position is $40-$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.It is not intended that this Job Description include all details of the work functions of this position.
