Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a PD MRI Technician at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. This role involves performing MRI procedures and ensuring patient comfort while assessing age-specific needs.

Qualified candidates must have a degree from an approved School of Radiologic Technology and at least one year of experience. Essential duties include assisting Radiologists, analyzing patient conditions, and ensuring all required supplies are ready for procedures.

The position is Per Diem and will follow a Day Shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in MRI.
• ARRT certification required with CEU compliance.
• BLS Provider Certification from American Heart Association.

Job Overview

Performs MRI procedures at a technical level without requiring constant supervision.

Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age‑specific needs and provide age‑specific treatment and care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• 1 year experience

Certifications and Licenses Required

• ARRT required with CEU compliance
• American Registry of MRI Technologist (ARMRIT) accepted in conjunction with ARRT
• American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification

Essential Functions

• Analyzes patient physical condition, age and suspected pathology for proper technique.
• Assists Radiologist in performing certain radiographic procedures.
• Correctly marks images with time and body position.
• Ensures patient comfort, physical and mental well‑being during the examination.
• Ensures that room is properly stocked with all needed supplies prior to the beginning of the procedure.
• Explains procedures, keeps patient informed of progress and assists patients in transferring on to / off examination table for procedures.
