Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley is seeking an MRI Safety Assistant to support MRI technologists and enforce safety procedures in the MRI environment. This role includes preparing and positioning patients, transporting patients, scheduling MRI scans, and assisting with related paperwork and forms.

The assistant works under the direct supervision of an MR technologist, ensuring safe practices and efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as directed by the MRI technologist, virtual operations center, or physician in meeting the multidisciplinary plan of care.
• Assists in problem solving and troubleshooting in the care and maintenance of equipment and ensures adequate supplies on the unit.
• Provides one-to-one patient safety watch as assigned following established policy and procedures.
• Transports non-controlled medications as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic and unit.
• Greets patients, assists with paperwork, and transports patients to imaging areas.
• Schedules patient appointments as needed.
• Prepares and processes requests for imaging and routes to technical personnel.
