Job summary

UCLA Health in Santa Monica is seeking a dependable Hospital Assistant to support the MRI Radiology team. You will assist with patient prep, room setup, safety procedures, and daily operations to ensure a smooth workflow. You will work evenings Mon-Fri and may rotate to other UCLA Health imaging locations.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, clear communication with technologists, and adherence to safety and documentation standards in CareConnect, HIS, and GE PACSNET systems.

Qualifications

• BCLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to perform daily tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Independent decision making in various job functions.
• Prioritize work and provide updates to the technical staff.
• Ability to rotate to WWH/SMH and all Outpatient MR Sections as needed.
• Flexibility with working hours with adequate notice.
• Knowledge of CareConnect EMR (RIS) and HIS.
• Knowledge of GE PACSNET-Centricity systems.
• Read and communicate in standard English to patients and staff.
• 2 years of hospital experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist MRI technologists with patient preparation, positioning, and room setup.
• Support MR safety screening and educate patients on MRI procedures and safety.
• Assist patients on/off MRI examination tables, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Prepare and maintain MRI rooms and equipment areas, keeping them stocked.
• Process documentation using CareConnect and HIS.
• Verify image data archival through GE PACSNET/Centricity.
• Help maintain efficient workflow by anticipating needs of technologists and patients.
• Provide compassionate, respectful assistance to patients and families.
• Rotate to other UCLA Health imaging locations as required.
