Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a dependable Hospital Assistant to support our MRI Radiology team. In this role, you'll help prepare patients, maintain a safe and organized environment, and keep daily operations running smoothly alongside MRI technologists and care team.

You will assist with patient positioning, MR safety screening, room preparation, and documentation in CareConnect and HIS. The position may rotate to other imaging locations, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• BCLS certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
• Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately.
• Skill in performing all daily tasks independently and with minimal supervision.
• Skill in employing independent decision making while performing various job functions.
• Ability to prioritize work and provide frequent updates to the technical staff.
• Ability to rotate to WWH/SMH and all Outpatient MR Sections as needed.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CareConnect EMR System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Demonstrated knowledge of GE PACSNET - Centricity computer and workstation.

Responsibilities

• Assist MRI technologists with patient preparation, positioning, and room setup.
• Support MR safety screening and help educate patients on MRI procedures and safety requirements.
• Assist patients with moving on and off MRI examination tables, ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Prepare and maintain MRI rooms and equipment areas so they are clean, safe, organized, and fully stocked.
• Process standard documentation and patient information using CareConnect and the Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Assist with verification of image data archival through GE PACSNET/Centricity.
• Help maintain an efficient workflow by anticipating the needs of technologists and patients.
• Provide compassionate, respectful assistance to patients and families throughout their visit.
