Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a dependable Hospital Assistant to support the MRI Radiology team. You will assist with patient preparation, safety screening, and room setup while maintaining a clean, organized workflow and using CareConnect and HIS systems.

You’ll collaborate with MRI technologists, patients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience, including occasional rotations to other imaging locations.

Qualifications

• BCLS certification required; familiarity with MRI workflow is a plus.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and consistently.
• Capable of performing tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates independent decision making in daily duties.
• Improves efficiency by prioritizing tasks and updating staff.
• Flexible with working hours and able to rotate as needed.
• Willingness to rotate to WWH/SMH and Outpatient MR sections.
• Adheres to attendance policies and presents a professional appearance.
• Delivers courteous, patient-focused service and protects privacy.
• Responds effectively to emergencies and supports safety protocols.
• Reads, writes, and speaks standard English for clear communication.
• May assist with language interpretation when appropriate.
• Proficient with CareConnect EMR and HIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist MRI technologists with patient prep, positioning and room setup.
• Support MR safety screening and educate patients on MRI procedures.
• Help patients move on/off MRI tables, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Prepare and maintain MRI rooms and equipment areas, stocked and clean.
• Process documentation and patient data in CareConnect and HIS.
• Assist in verifying image data archival via GE PACSNET/Centricity.
• Anticipate technologists' needs to improve workflow efficiency.
• Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients and families.
