UP Health System Marquette is seeking an MRI Radiographer to join our General Hospital imaging team. This 1.0 FTE, 40-hour-per-week role includes day and afternoon shifts with weekend rotation and a $7,500 sign-on bonus for external eligible candidates.

The ideal candidate will review orders, educate patients, prepare and administer contrast, monitor patient status, ensure safety and quality, and communicate results. ARRT MR certification or equivalent is required within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Two years ARRT accredited program; Associate's degree preferred.
• Certifications: BLS-HCP and ARRT MR (or NMTCB+ARRT MR options) – within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsabilités

• Reviews patient history and physician orders.
• Educates patient about procedures, equipment and exams.
• Prepares/administers contrast media and/or medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes.
• Prepares equipment; ensures safety; performs QC on equipment.
• Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results; identifies image quality issues.
• Resolves image quality issues by repositioning or repeating procedures.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
• Works with minimal supervision in a potentially stressful environment.

How you'll contribute

An MRI Radiographer who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.

• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.

• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

• Prepare equipment and supplies. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.

• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).

• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.

• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.

• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Education

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

• Requires one of the following:

  • 1) ARRT Registry in Radiology (R) and ARRT Registry (MR) (within 1 year hire/transfer)*
  • 2) Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARRT Registry (MR) (within 1 year hire/transfer) *
  • 3) ARRT Registry (MR)

* You must work under the supervision of an ARRT(MR) until yours is obtained.

Minimum Work Experience

1 year in Radiologic technology and/or MRI procedures (Preferred)
