Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist – MRI for the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System.

The role requires MRI expertise, ARRT certification, and the ability to optimize imaging while maintaining patient safety. Responsibilities include coordinating exams, adjusting parameters with radiologist input, starting IVs, and supervising quality assurance to deliver high-quality diagnostic data.

Qualifications

• Certification in general radiologic technology by ARRT (R).
• Advanced ARRT certification required for MRI/CT/Mammography duties.
• QA and safety standards in MRI are followed.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate MRI exams while accommodating emergencies.
• Set scanning parameters and monitor patients during MRI procedures.
• Position patients, start IVs, and administer contrast when needed.
• Communicate with Radiologist and Physicist for optimal imaging parameters.
• Maintain records in RIS/PACS and ensure proper patient identification.
• Train new staff and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
