Qualifications

• Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in radiologic technology program (certificate or associate degree).
• ARRT certification in general radiologic technology (R) is required; advanced ARRT certification for MRI/CT/Mammography duties when applicable.
• Education or certification/licensure requirements must be met.
• Grandfathering provision may apply to current VA employees in this occupation.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures and ensure patient safety throughout imaging process.
• Maintain patient care, comfort, and confidentiality during radiologic examinations.
• Coordinate with radiologists and imaging team to ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
• Monitor equipment and adjust calibration parameters to obtain optimal images.
• Document patient records and imaging results accurately.
