Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist with MRI specialization. You will support Imaging Service with advanced MRI techniques, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging.

Required are ARRT( radiography) certification, 24-month radiologic technology training (JRCERT or equivalent), and eligibility for advanced ARRT certification for MRI. On-site, with on-call duties and federal benefits.

Qualifications

Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in radiologic technology program (JRCERT or equivalent).
ARRT certification in general radiologic technology (R).
Advanced ARRT certification for MRI/CT/Mammography as applicable.
May qualify via Grandfathering Provision for VA employees.
Experience at GS-8 level criteria may apply.

Responsibilities

Schedule and perform MRI exams optimizing equipment capabilities.
Coordinate with Radiologist and Physicist to select imaging parameters.
Position patients and monitor during MRI examinations; administer contrast when required.
Maintain patient safety and screen for contraindications; ensure accurate RIS/PACS labeling.
Train new staff and monitor quality assurance in MRI procedures.
