Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a full-time Imaging Support Specialist to join the Biomedical Imaging Center. You will coordinate MRI services, oversee MR system operations, and provide expert technical guidance to researchers and staff.

You will train and mentor users, manage data and SOPs, and support both human and pre-clinical MR imaging projects within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical imaging-related field.
  • 4+ years of MRI/fMRI human subjects research experience.
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring others.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office or equivalent packages.
  • Ability to be an effective and flexible team member.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver MRI services to the BIC’s user-base in line with the mission.
  • Coordinate maintenance and daily operations of clinical MR systems, including QA/QC and protocol creation.
  • Oversee user compliance with BIC policies and SOPs.
  • Provide specialist technical support for MR imaging and spectroscopy.
  • Conduct MRI-related training of research personnel and develop curricula.
