Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist for a home-based role to support imaging quality and safety across a large health system. You will lead CT and MRI protocol development, oversee radiation safety programs, and collaborate with leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

We prefer candidates with a Master of Science in Physics or related field, Texas medical physics license, and ABR board certification, with several years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• License/Certification: Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or related board required/recognized.

Responsabilités

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray registrations and RAM licenses; liaises with Texas Department of State Health Services.
• Develops and evaluates radiation safety policies to minimize exposure and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversees equipment performance evaluations for x-ray and other imaging modalities (CT, MRI, ultrasound).
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinates with architects on radiation-safe space design in ALARA principles.
• Participates in RPC/RSC meetings to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with ACR accreditation processes as needed.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and performance requirements.
