Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn seeks a full-time MRI, CT & IR Manager/Assistant Director to lead MRI, CT and interventional imaging services. You will ensure high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations across imaging teams with collaboration across radiology and hospital leadership.

The role emphasizes safety, QA, staffing, and readiness for Joint Commission and NYSDOH inspections while driving continuous improvement and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• New York State DOH licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT certification and registration required.
• 5+ years hospital CT and MRI experience with 2–3 years in supervisory or leadership roles.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission and NYSDOH accreditation standards.
• Ability to coordinate operations with radiologists, nursing, and other departments.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational oversight and supervision of MRI, CT, and IR services.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations for technologists.
• Coordinate coverage, patient throughput, and imaging workflows.
• Maintain policies, QA/QC, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in budget planning, procurement, and cost-containment initiatives.
• Ensure radiation and patient safety protocols are followed.
