Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a part-time Radiology Support role in Colorado Springs. The position assists technologists, communicates with families, prepares rooms, and helps with scheduling and registration as needed to keep exam flow smooth.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and BLS/CPR certification, with preference for IV or EMT credentials. Day-to-day duties include patient transport, documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Certification: BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR.
• Preference given to those with IV or EMT certification.
• Ideal applicants have healthcare knowledge and/or a clinical background.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists with room and patient preparation for radiologic exams.
• Assist the technologist and radiologist with patient care before, during and after procedures.
• Promote high quality patient care with clear explanations and comfort/safety.
• Coordinate with other departments and nursing staff for exam safety and coordination.
• Maintain patient records by importing images and processing imaging requests.
• Transport patients as needed and accompany them in exam rooms.
• Stock supplies, clean work areas, and round the department for readiness.
• May participate in MRI safety after Level 1 training.

Job description

Assists in daily workflow and procedures in the department of Radiology. This includes escorting and assisting families and patients; set up and cleanup of rooms; supply stocking, organization and other duties that enhance patient and exam flow. This role may provide additional support by answering phones, scheduling, registering, and greeting patients and families.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists technologists with room and patient preparation for radiologic exams.
• Assists the technologist and radiologist with all aspects of patient care as needed before, during and after the procedure.
• Promotes high quality patient care using effective communication that explains the radiologic exam and ensures patient comfort and safety.
• Communicates with other departments and nursing staff to ensure exam coordination and safety.
• Maintains patient medical records by importing/uploading outside images and processing outside imaging requests.
• May provide direct patient care by transporting patients throughout the facility and remaining with patients while waiting in exam rooms.
• Cleans work areas, stock supplies and rounds throughout the department.
• May serve as additional safety team member in MRI after completing required Level 1 training.
• Provides and obtains signatures for the appropriate treatment consents forms from patients/families.
• Provides patient support services which may include scheduling, registration, patient reception, patient check in/out and follow-up visit support.
• Obtains and documents patient and legal guardian demographic information.
• Performs data entry functions, including entering patient demographic information and patient updates in a medical records system.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification: BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR
• Preference will be given to those applicants who have their IV or EMT certification.
• Ideal applicants have healthcare knowledge and/or a clinical backgroud

Salary Information

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Hourly Range: $17.39 to $26.09
