Job summary

Casella in Lewiston, ME seeks a Sorter for our Material Recovery Facility. You will sort through recycled materials on the conveyor, inspecting items and placing them by commodity, size, or grade, while following safety protocols and PPE usage. Starting pay is $16.00 per hour with growth opportunities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, teamwork, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting. Pre-employment testing is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and be able to work in a team.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US and complete pre-employment testing.
• Ability to perform physical duties including standing, bending, lifting.

Responsibilities

• Sorts through recycled materials on the conveyor, placing items by commodity, size, and grade.
• Performs cleaning and housekeeping duties around plant equipment.
• Reports system problems to supervisor and maintains a clean work area.
• Participates in safety trainings and upholds PPE usage as part of safety culture.
