Job summary

City of Richmond is seeking a skilled waste collection worker to operate routes for recycling and refuse pickup. You will sort materials, bale recyclables, and perform maintenance on vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout daily operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Class B CDL in Indiana, with the ability to communicate effectively and work with the public and coworkers in a dynamic municipal setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid commercial driver's license with Class B endorsement in Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Drives prescribed routes to collect recyclable and waste material.
• Sorts received and collected material for proper waste processing.
• Bails cardboard and recyclable material.
• Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles, machines, and equipment.
• Assists with general cleanup at the Material Recycling Facility as needed.
• Provides information to Crew Leader or Collection Manager on route issues or problems and assists with solutions for the same.
