Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aircraft engines, is seeking a Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer – Engine Hardware in a hybrid role at Middletown, CT. You will support MRB processes, evaluate nonconformances, and drive robust dispositions across internal and supplier hardware.

Requirements include a STEM degree with 8 years of experience (or an advanced degree with 5 years) and the ability to obtain MRE certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in aerospace design, structures, manufacturing, or quality engineering, preferably supporting gas turbine engines, compression systems, rotating hardware, or hot-section hardware.
• Ability to obtain MRE certification via Pratt & Whitney MRB training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of MRB procedures and ensure adherence to processes.
• Evaluate hardware nonconformances and provide dispositions for internal and supplier hardware.
• Own technical decisions ensuring product integrity, safety, and compliance with engineering requirements.
• Investigate nonconforming hardware and support rework and repair solutions.
• Support manufacturing during disposition to ensure safety, durability, producibility, and quality.
• Balance manufacturing capabilities with engineering requirements for risk-based dispositions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and suppliers to resolve hardware issues.
