The Excavation Field Manager serves as a primary line of defense to protect the company, its employees, and its operations while maintaining profitability. You will hold full executive authority to halt any job or project that poses a safety or financial risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect the Company: Ensure all job sites strictly adhere to safety regulations and company policies. Hold the authority to make critical, real-time decisions to halt projects that jeopardize safety or profitability.

  • Customer Ticket Resolution: Connect with customers regarding excavation call tickets via recorded calls or email. Promptly resolve, close, and document tickets, escalating unresolved issues when necessary.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain a visible office calendar scheduling all PMs (preventative maintenance) for excavation equipment. Actively track all equipment moving in and out of service.
  • Daily Site Inspections: Visit active job sites to review progress and confirm the scope of work. Inspect vehicles and equipment for cleanliness and proper working condition to ensure operations run safely and efficiently.
  • Pre-Excavation Review: Evaluate sold jobs to confirm diagnoses; approve or adjust the scopes of work as required.
  • Recruitment & Hiring: Interview candidates for dig crew and closer positions, collaborating closely with recruiting teams to secure hiring approvals.
  • Permit Management: Coordinate with closers, office staff, and fellow managers to ensure all necessary municipal and local permits are pulled before a job begins.

  • Tools for Success: Company-issued iPad and integrated operational software.
