Job summary

The UCLA Economics Department invites applications for a Graduate Advisor for the Master of Quantitative Economics (MQE). You will serve as the principal resource for MQE students, guiding enrollment, admissions, and program operations within a dynamic, research-driven environment.

You will plan events, monitor student progress, support recruiting and retention, and collaborate with the MQE leadership, Chair, and CAO on data and reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Experience working with graduate programs and student services preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to handle confidential student information with discretion.
  • Proactive, capable of team work and independent problem solving.
  • Familiarity with UCLA campus systems (OASIS, Bruinbuy, MyUCLA).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling, enrollment, and admissions for the MQE program.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for prospective and current MQE students.
  • Plan and manage special events and program communications.
  • Support job placement activities and tracking of student progress.
  • Prepare reports, memos, and market research summaries for leadership.
  • Assist Chair and MQE Faculty Director with operational tasks.
