Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to join the MQ-25 Mission Plan Validation Team in the Lexington Park, Maryland area. You will perform six degree of freedom (6DOF) analyses using MODAVSIM and MATLAB, script batch simulations, plot results, and document findings to support airworthiness assessments and flight certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of aerodynamics and/or computer programming with MATLAB or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute 6DOF simulation analyses using MODAVSIM with Mission Plan routes provided by MQ-25 ITT and AVPs.
• Develop scripts to run batch-style simulations using MODAVSIM and MATLAB.
• Plot data and create reports including time-history overlays on satellite imagery.
• Provide initial analysis of runs with a stoplight chart against defined thresholds.
• Review mission plan files to develop a test matrix for simulations.
• Support HITL/TTRU related analyses and account for findings in 6DOF analysis.
• Develop knowledge of aircraft and GCS systems, and mission planning concepts.
