Job summary

SimTech, Inc. seeks a mid-level Modeling and Simulation Engineer to create and maintain high-fidelity 6DOF simulations of weapon systems in Huntsville, AL. You will collaborate with GNC, seeker, propulsion, and software teams to ensure model validity against flight data and test results.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience developing 6DOF or equivalent flight dynamics simulations.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for simulation development.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for analysis and automation.
• Working knowledge of GNC fundamentals and control loops.

Responsibilities

• Model and analyze RF seeker performance, including sensor control and target engagement behavior.
• Evaluate missile performance through multi-disciplinary modeling (airframe, propulsion, aerodynamics, actuators).
• Develop post-processing and analysis tooling in MATLAB and Python.
• Build, extend, and maintain a closed-loop 6DOF flight simulation in C/C++.
• Integrate subsystem models across flight dynamics, actuation, motor, gimbal, seeker, guidance, navigation and control.
• Support SIL/HIL integration and test with flight software in the loop.
• Plan trade studies, Monte Carlo analyses, and sensitivity sweeps to inform design margins.
• Produce clear technical results, briefings, and documentation for internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with GNC, seeker, propulsion, and software engineers to validate models against flight data.
