Job summary

The Jonus Group is seeking a dynamic Professional Lines Underwriter specializing in MPL in Chicago. You will underwrite E&O and General Liability exposures, manage renewals, and drive new business by building broker relationships in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in Professional Liability/E&O underwriting, strong sales and negotiation skills, and are willing to travel up to 25% to support growth and client coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Professional Liability/E&O underwriting experience.
• Strong sales and business development mindset.
• Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to generate underwriting profit; strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, price, and negotiate MPL accounts (new and renewals).
• Develop and maintain strong broker relationships to drive new business.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of professional liability risks.
• Collaborate with the national MPL underwriting team for consistency.
• Maintain high service standards for brokers and insureds.
• Exceed quote activity and production goals.
• Attend broker meetings and client visits to strengthen market presence.
• Contribute to growth of a profitable book of business.
