FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt. Reports To: Operations Manager.

Job Summary

The Enhancement Crew Lead is responsible for leading a landscape maintenance crew of up to 4 members to perform landscape maintenance services throughout Des Moines and surrounding areas. The Crew Lead promotes jobsite safety, completes jobs with great efficiency while providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship.

Essential Job Functions

• Mow, trim, and edge lawns operating zero turn mowers, trimmers, edgers and other power equipment.
• Work closely with Operations Manager and Sales team Lead crew members in performing mowing services.
• Manage crew effectively and efficiently to produce an excellent and profitable product.
• Maintain work vehicle and tools to be clean, organized, and operational on a daily basis.
• Train and develop crew members in best practices of industry and company standards.
• Complete daily activity reports and timesheets and submit daily forecast equipment, labor and material needs to ensure efficient production.
• Direct, oversee and participate in work performed by your team.
• This is a hands‑on position that requires performing work activities alongside your team.
• Interact with clientele to ensure job satisfaction.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mowing or related industry.
• General horticulture knowledge.
• Iowa Commercial Pesticide Applicator certification.
• 3OT License or ability to obtain one within 20 days of hire.
• Proficient in operating landscape equipment.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license.
• Valid First‑Aid and CPR cards or willingness to obtain them.
• Self‑motivated with strong leadership skills.
• Professional in appearance and actions.
• Well organized with the ability to multi‑task.
• Proactive planner, problem solver to minimize disruption, errors, risks and keep projects on‑task, within budget, and on‑schedule.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Ability to reach, climb, kneel, lift (up to 50 lbs.) and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and during adverse weather conditions as warranted by workload and schedule.
• Ability to read and interpret daily work orders.
• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors.
