Job summary

The-Greenery,-Inc is seeking a Maintenance Crew Leader to supervise and train crew members in landscaping techniques, equipment use, and safety, ensuring high-quality results and client satisfaction. The role blends leadership with hands-on field work and project coordination.

You will oversee mowing, edging, pruning, irrigation, and general property upkeep while ensuring PPE and safety protocols are followed and vehicles and tools remain in good condition.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
  • 6 months of commercial landscape experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor crew members in landscaping techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures.
  • Perform and oversee landscaping and maintenance tasks (mowing, edging, trimming, mulching, planting, pruning, irrigation, snow removal).
  • Safely operate and maintain lawn and landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge clippers, sprayers, trucks, trailers).
  • Ensure crew members wear proper uniforms and PPE at all times.
  • Keep trucks, tools, and equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Serve as a point of contact between clients, supervisors, and project managers; provide updates and address concerns.

This role combines leadership, hands-on field work, project coordination, and client communication to deliver high-quality results and exceptional customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and mentor crew members in landscaping techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures.
  • Perform and oversee landscaping and maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, trimming, mulching, planting, pruning, irrigation, snow removal, and general property upkeep.
  • Safely operate and maintain lawn and landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge clippers, sprayers, trucks, trailers, etc.).
  • Ensure crew members wear proper uniforms and safety equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Keep trucks, tools, and equipment clean, presentable, and in good working order.
  • Serve as a point of contact between clients, supervisors, and project managers.
  • Provide updates, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to operate mowers (zero-turn, push), trimmers, blowers, edgers, chainsaws, and irrigation tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in landscaping highly preferred.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
Education and Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent desired
  • Previous outside construction, landscape, or similar field experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must
  • 6 months commercial landscape experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
  • Regular attendance and reliability, including the ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, humidity).
