Job summary

Rail Events Productions Inc. in New Orleans, LA seeks an Audio Technician/Operator for THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride. You will install, operate, and maintain theatrical audio systems under the supervision of the Production Audio Supervisors and Stage Manager.

Expect evenings, weekends, overtime, and holiday work on a moving train. Responsibilities include supporting the Sound Designer, coordinating with production staff, and troubleshooting system issues to uphold audio quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience as a theatrical audio technician.
• Dante Level 1 certification required before start.
• Experience with RF systems and Wireless Workbench.
• Q-SYS Level 1 certification required before start.
• Experience with computer networking hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain audio systems with the Sound Designer and crew.
• Operate, maintain, and repair audio systems during the event.
• Maintain artistic integrity of sound designs throughout the run.
• Work with Stage Manager to operate audio during events.
• Assist electricians with lighting as needed.
• Assist load-out to restore event space for railroad operations.
• Incorporate last-minute changes during rehearsals with production staff.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a positive team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
