Duties/Responsibilities:
Removes work pieces from machines, and check to ensure that they conform to specifications, using measuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
Observes milling or planning machine operation and adjusts controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances.
Positions and secures work pieces on machines, using holding devices, measuring instruments, hand tools, and hoists.
Aligns and configures machinery.
Inspects production samples to evaluate quality and accuracy.
Maintains inventory of supplies needed.
Studies blueprints, layouts, sketches, or work orders to assess work pieces specifications and to determine tooling instructions, tools and materials needed, and sequences of operations.
Performs routine maintenance on machines in coordination with Maintenance Mechanic.
Drafts and submits reports for production totals.
Maintains a clean area around machinery.
Moves controls to set cutting specifications, to position cutting tools and work pieces in relation to each other, and to start machines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.
Ability to follow instructions.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
