Job summary

General Motors is seeking a senior Product Owner for its Motorsports IT team in Concord, NC. The role focuses on translating software needs from GM Motorsports race teams into Epics/Features/User Stories and managing roadmaps for Timing & Scoring, Race Strategy, and Telemetry data.

The position requires weekend support, up to 25% travel, and potentially relocation benefits. Hybrid work arrangement with frequent collaboration across engineering, race teams, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a product manager, product owner, business analyst, systems analyst, or similar role.
• Experience with timing and scoring or race strategy software.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar backlog tracking tooling.
• Experience working in an agile delivery environment.
• Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Communicate Epics/Features/User Stories/Defects to software development teams.
• Translate product strategies into requirements and roadmaps.
• Manage ongoing changes and cross-team coordination & status.
• Define priorities and communicate to stakeholders.
• Assist teams through software product development to meet objectives.
• Drive software product releases with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leverage market research to understand customers and market; include competitive benchmarking.
• Track software performance and suggest improvements to customer experience and product strategy.
