Job summary

GM Motorsports is seeking a Summer Intern to contribute to aerodynamic development. You may work on CFD workflows, data processing, and ML applications to support high-performance engineering across Cadillac Formula 1, NASCAR, INDYCAR, and IMSA programs.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and leaders, focusing on rigorous analysis and effective communication. This hybrid internship is based at the Charlotte Technical Center in Concord, NC, with a May 24 or June 14, 2027 start date.

Qualifications

• Pursue a bachelor's degree in physics, mathematics, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computational science, or a related field.
• Must be graduating after September 2027 or beyond.
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months.
• Demonstrated experience in CFD surrogate or data-driven models for performance prediction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve CFD workflows across the lifecycle from CAD prep to automated reporting.
• Support wind-tunnel testing planning, instrumentation, data acquisition, and processing.
• Develop and validate machine-learning models for aerodynamic performance prediction.
• Create AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity and decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineers to define requirements and communicate results clearly.
