Duties
- Drives passenger buses regardless of gross vehicle weight and various types of trucks such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks weighing from 26,000 to 32,000.
- Assists with loading and unloading cargo and materials. Ensures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation. Completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service record

- Fills out driver's accident report in case of accident. Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations.
- The operator receives instructions from the supervisor or dispatcher as to the type of vehicle to be operated, destination, purpose, deadline, and work to be done.

- Lifting Requirement Must be able to lift and carry heavy items weighing 40 pounds and over occasionally.

- Possession of a valid state driver's license or CDL to operate a government vehicle with a capacity for transporting 24 passengers is required.
- This position is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R.
- This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP).
- As a condition of employment, incumbent of a TDP is subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs.
- Light physical effort is required in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Moderate physical effort is required in making couplings and maneuvering the longer and heavier vehicles.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
- Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools.
- Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
- Requires a valid state driver's license to operate a 15 passenger vehicle.
- Requires a commercial drivers license (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a 24 passenger vehicle.

Allowances and Differentials
- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
