Qualifications

Job Overview

The Motor Pool Supervisor/Lead Technician works under the supervision of the Director, Support Services. Responsible for supervising fleet service technicians, maintaining parts and tool inventory, rebuilding engines, and performing various vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks. Ensures compliance with all guidelines and regulations, records work performed, and uses diagnostic equipment and specialized tools. Performs related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Attends work regularly; may require specific or rotating shifts, extended hours, or overtime.
  2. Supervises technicians to ensure operational support of the fleet.
  3. Leads fault diagnosis and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  4. Manages paperwork for parts, supplies, maintenance records, and budget.
  5. Uses hand and power tools, safety equipment, and diagnostic tools safely.
  6. Communicates effectively to promote productive relationships.
  7. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  8. Participates in disaster response and recovery efforts as needed, possibly involving shift or location changes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of motor vehicle operations, safety rules, and maintenance.
  • Skill in operating various motor vehicles and maneuvering in tight areas.
  • Ability to follow instructions and sign driver qualification statements.
Requirements
  • Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Pass background checks, drug screening, and registry checks.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Age 18 or older.
