Job description

Raytheon's Hardware Electrical Engineering Team is looking for junior engineers with electronics knowledge to support the design and testing of electronic products and systems.

What You Will Do
  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion (and related analog) circuitry. This circuitry will dominantly involve 3‑phase inverter design, sensor interfacing and controller circuits, with a main emphasis on board‑mounted power end‑use applications.
  • Hands‑on drafting & designing at a circuit card level.
  • Help circuit card development progress through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
  • Drive to meet schedule concerns and define schedules for circuit‑level tasking.
  • Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, with moderate support from senior engineers, and assist in layer stackup definition.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced STEM degree.
  • Design, analysis, test, and/or simulation experience with motor types such as brushed, BLDC or PMSM is a plus.
  • Experience using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or other similar tools.
  • Experience with analog electronics design, including at least one of: FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, high/low/band‑pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
  • Experience working in a lab setting and using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, frequency generators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
Qualifications We Value
  • An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A self‑starter, quick learner, able to function in a dynamic environment, with good time‑management skills and an appreciation for successful team structures.
  • Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small team level.
  • Experience in any one of the following:
    • Familiarity with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) in power electronics designs and simulators such as SIMPLIS or SABER, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, or Hyperlynx.
    • Military specifications.
    • Design considerations for voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW, including three‑phase power systems, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development.
    • Program management tools such as Earned Value.
What We Offer
  • Work schedule: 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).
  • Relocation eligibility for this position.
  • Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD (good‑faith estimate).
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Student Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
  • Annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs, subject to business and performance factors.
  • U.S.-based role; pay structure and benefits adapt to U.S. territories if applicable.
