Job description

Overview

Raytheon’s Effector Analog & Power (EAP) Team is seeking mid‑career electrical engineers to design, develop, and test robust motor control systems. The role focuses on power conversion circuitry, low‑noise mixed‑signal electronics, and circuit card development for telemetry and flight termination products.

Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion and related analog circuitry (3‑phase inverter design, sensor interfacing, controller circuits).
  • Draft and design at the circuit card level, supporting development from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
  • Define schedules for circuit‑level tasking and drive projects to meet schedule concerns.
  • Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities, and assist in layer stackup definition.
  • Participate in lab testing using oscilloscopes, DMMs, frequency generators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
Qualifications
  • Degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with motor types such as brushed, BLDC, or PMSM.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or similar simulation tools.
  • Analog design experience with FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, high/low/band‑pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
  • Hands‑on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, frequency generators, power supplies, data acquisition).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with wide‑bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) in power electronics.
  • Knowledge of simulators such as SIMPLIS or SABER, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and Hyperlynx.
  • Familiarity with military specifications and design considerations for voltages >400V and/or power >10kW.
  • Experience in three‑phase power systems, power‑factor control, inverter/rectifier development, and program management tools such as Earned Value.
  • Strong self‑starter, quick learner, good time‑management skills, and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Benefits
  • Salary range: 86,800USD – 165,200USD.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability.
  • 401(k) match and flexible spending accounts.
  • Flexible work schedules (9/80 schedule).
  • Employee assistance program, parent leave, paid time off, and holidays.
