Job summary

Jobot is seeking an electrical engineer to design next-generation motor control hardware from concept to production in St. Louis, MO.

You will tackle power electronics, PCB design, and motor-control projects with a highly collaborative engineering team. Responsibilities include designing hardware from concept through testing and production, translating system requirements into hardware specs, and working with firmware, systems, and suppliers to ensure robust designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing motor controller hardware for complex electromechanical environments.
• Strong schematic capture and PCB layout skills (Altium).
• Solid analogue/digital design, power electronics and signal processing basics.

Responsibilities

• Design motor controller hardware from concept to production.
• Translate system requirements into hardware specs with cross-functional teams.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Perform electrical, thermal and EMC analysis and simulations.
• Build/test prototypes and drive issue resolution.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing on components and production.
• Work with firmware/software engineers on integration of motor-control algorithms.
• Develop documentation including specs, tests and reports.
