Global Point Technology Group in South Beloit, IL is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer (Hardware and Firmware) to design, develop, test, and maintain electronic hardware and embedded firmware for motor controllers and related embedded systems. The role involves schematic capture, PCBA oversight, component selection, and debugging across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
3–5 years of hardware and firmware development experience.
Solid understanding of power electronics and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

Design and develop firmware, schematics, and oversee PCBA layout for motor controllers and other embedded systems.
Select components with attention to performance, availability, lifecycle and cost.
Review PCB layouts for signal integrity, power, and thermal performance.
Collaborate with clients, 3rd‑party engineers, technicians, salespeople, and specialists on custom designs.
Define and support DFM, DFA, and DFT requirements.
Support prototype builds, bring‑up, debugging, and validation testing.
Support design changes and continuous product improvements.
Maintain professional, technical, and computer knowledge via continuous education.
