Job summary

North Reading High School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for a temporary assignment from September through November 2026. The role involves co-taught and small group instruction with a focus on mathematics content, and requires development of IEPs with the team.

You will provide direct instruction, modifications, and accommodations, collaborate with general education staff, and support paraprofessionals in a diverse, inclusive setting. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts DESE license in MT/5-12 preferred.
• Experience with IEP development and evaluations is expected.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and accommodations in inclusion/co-taught and small group settings.
• Develop IEPs with team and ensure accommodations are implemented.
• Lead annual reviews and progress meetings.
• Administer, score, and interpret diagnostics (WIAT, TOWL, KeyMath).
• Oversee Paraprofessional staff and other duties as assigned.
